Clinical, Counseling and School Psychology

About

An essential process of liberation psychology calls the psychologist to embed themselves in community, encouraging close interpersonal connections between "practitioners" and "clients" - which may involve multiple relationships (e.g., a psychologist provides counseling services to an individual who is also a member of the local NAACP chapter, which hosts social events quarterly). My research will explore best practices for culturally responsive healing work and supervision, to support Black psychologists with navigating multiple relationships in a way that supports the health and wellbeing of themselves and their community.
