<p><em>Ginette Sims is a 4th year doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology within the department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She received her BA in Anthropology at Williams College and her MA in Counseling Psychology at UCSB. Her research focuses on how sociopolitical and cultural factors influence trauma symptomology in underserved populations. Her current project examines the psychosocial impact of being exposed to media containing police violence towards African-Americans on African-Americans.</em></p>
