Dependent EAP Calculator

  • Select class level you will be in during your EAP term. You can view your current class level on GOLD under "Registration Info".
  • Select your EAP program length. You can find this information on the UCEAP website, under Find a Program.
  • Quarters Attending Abroad

    If your Fall semester program ends on or before the end of December, select Fall.

    If your Fall semester program ends between the end of January and end of March, select Fall and Winter.

    If your Spring semester program ends between the end of April and June, select Winter and Spring.

    If your Spring semester starts in March and ends on or after June, select Spring only.

    For Year programs, select Fall, Winter and Spring.

  • Residency Status
  • Note: The Student Aid Index (SAI) will replace the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) in 2024-2025.

    Your EFC/SAI can be found on the Award Letter tab of My Aid Status or on your SAR (Student Aid Report) from FAFSA/CADAA.

  • The EAP budget is the total estimate cost of your program (Fees Paid to UCEAP/Program Fees + Personal Expenses) and is found in the cost section of your program at the UCEAP website. Do not include Non-Resident fees.
  • The airfare amount is provided by UCEAP My EAP Portal.

    Find your program, go to the Money Matters Tab and click the link below the UCEAP Program Budget(s) & Payment Schedules Section. If your program is new and you cannot find the budget sheet in the link provided, you may use a round-trip airfare amount from a flight agency online. However, keep in mind that your award letter will be based on UCEAP's posted flight amount and it is your responsibility to find flights that are below or at the same rate that UCEAP establishes.

  • For Pre-ILP and Summer programs, Cal Vet Tuition Waivers, Promise Scholars, and other special circumstances, please email finaideap@sa.ucsb.edu. Include your perm, program name, country, and term you will study abroad.
